Born on 3rd Nov 1980, Aditi Roy, a Political Science Honors Graduate (2002), took up Film Studies as a supplementary subject. Realizing her growing interest in Films, she opted for FILM STUDIES for her Masters (2004) degree in Jadavpur University.
The same years were also spent in gaining a Diploma in Mass Communication from Jadavpur University. In 2004, she joined the Indo Italian Institute “Roopkala Kendra” to pursue a course in Direction. Her Diploma film was screened at The Kolkata International Film Festival in 2007.
She has been working as an independent film maker for Corporate, Documentaries & Shorts. She has also been involved in making films for top notch Directors from Bengal. Valued Clients like British Council, Bharat Chamber Of Commerce and Several NGO‘s have repeated their choice by selecting her to direct for them.
She marked her Debut as a Feature Film Director with “ABOSHESHEY” - (AT THE END OF IT ALL), at the age of 29. The film has been widely accepted; and, has also found critical acclaim globally for its sensitive and poetic portrayal of search for identity.
Abosheshey, the only Indian selection, won The Netpac Award in 2011 at The International Film Festival of Kerala. It was also recognized with the National Award 2011 for Best Female Playback; and, was amongst the 10 films as Market Recommendation by NFDC for projection at Goa, 2011. It was awarded the Best Film at the Bengal Youth Awards 2013.

She believes in cinematic storytelling that is enjoyed and loved by the cine goers for all Diasporas of society.
She is preparing for her second feature film in 2015.
